Partial and full appearance

The work on the cylinders tells a single story with no connecting threads.
Different scenes are depicted in slightly different positions.
Just as the end of a story marks the beginning of a new journey, the scenery appears to repeat, but our impressions and the messages we receive change as we, the viewers, change.
Although it appears to be repetitive, it is not.

円筒に描かれた作品は、つなぎ目がない一つの物語であり
異なるシーンが少しずつずれた位置で描かれている。
物語の終わりは新たな旅の始まりであるように、
同じような景色を繰り返しているようで、
それを見る私たちが変わっていくことで全く違う印象やメッセージを受け取る。
繰り返しているようで実は繰り返してはいない。
